How to fill in an atrophic scar?

I had a pimple scab that I pulled off about a month and a half ago...at first it looked like raw pink skin, but now its like discolored (more brownish)... does that mean it hasn't even helaed yet? Its not sunken in but it is missing the top layer of skin..does that make it an atrophic scar??? is there anything that can help it or anything i should be putting on it to help it heal sooner? Note: I put neosporin on it the first week; and Im not going to put mederma bc that inhibits the production of collagen and i think i need something thatll produce collagen so...........?
