How to take care of a wounded bird?

One of my baby birds was trying to get rid of some food that was attached to his beak and feathers, he scratch himself til he started bleeding and now i'm wondering what i should do, he doesn't seem to be in much pain but i'm afraid it'll get infected and worse if i don't do anything. what should i do?
