Sucker Punch Movie: What is the meaning?

I just watched the new Sucker Punch movie. I am very confused as to what the whole thing meant. I don't even understand that whole thing with the point thing and the hammer in the face? How did finding these things bring freedom to BabyDoll? Why did they do that to her in the end if the dance teacher didn't even sign her signature? There are so many things I don't understand. Could someone please explain to me all the meanings in this movie ?!
